some processes

Sketches

Dyed PVC

Gathered with cotton voile and cotton silk

collection in progress

update a bit about my life:)
I've been working so hard on my draft range in these few weeks, drawing sketches, playing with colors, dyeing fabrics, making patterns, constructing toile, doing fitting etc.
Nothing better than have a look on how other fashion masters doing magic on clothes when you feel stuck on your work, here i found something: RAF SIMON S/S 08

I was shocked when I re-watch this collection since i've found that my approach in my collection is similar to Raf's collection at some point: We're both playing with gathering on men, but my approach is more organic and free flow while Raf applied it horizontally; Our collection are both heavily influenced by color, by all mean, our color palettes are totally different. What i like about this collection? The detailing, combination of textures and the proportions he used.
While my supervisor said I need some more textures in my collection, i think this is a great reference to learn from.

VIKTOR & ROLF on DOLLS

We all know Viktor & Rolf's design looks good on women, what about on dolls? Let's go check on the Viktor & Rolf's Dolls exhibition in Antwerp, all hand-crafted ceramic dolls are nicely dressed up and styled with Viktor & Rolf previous designs from the "Russian Doll' babooshka collection in 1999 to the "One Woman Show" collection in 2003.

Interview "The Future Of Fashion: Alber Elbaz"

Interview of Alber Elbaz by Dirk Standen
From Style.com: http://www.style.com/stylefile/2010/05/the-future-of-fashion-part-six-alber-elbaz/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+style_file+(Style+-+The+Style+File)

"I know a lot of people complain that there is not enough change and that fashion in the past was much more creative than today, and I think a big part of this phenomenon is that we don’t have the time to think, we don’t have the time to project, we don’t have the time to digest. I’m not talking about, like, “Oh, we need to travel for inspiration,” because I do in fact believe that the best traveling you do is from your couch while you eat potato chips. But I think we just need the time to think and to look at it again and to have another perspective."
