Bernhard Willhelm, people described him as the king of crazy fashion. He really is. His designs always have some sort of surreal elements, and his confident in colors, extreme in cut and loud in design have given us big surprises in every season. The German born designer was graduated from the Royal Academy of Antwerp in 1998, and he has been worked for some big names such as Walter Van Beirendonck, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Dirk Bikkembergs before launching his own label. After reading a few interviews he've done with different medias, he's the kind of person that like something different and changes, like what he said in the interview with Hint Magazine, "I like to change and play with me. Even if somebody says I found myself or whatever, that's crap. The nice thing about life is it changes everyday. The real you or me doesn't exist. Sometimes it's good to show your legs, while other days you might cover them. It's not good to hide yourself all the time. Sometimes you even have to let the ugliness out." To me, this is so true as everyone now often dress so similar. We don't need uniformity, wouldn't it be great if everyone dress differently and have their own individuality in terms of clothing?
Please keep it up with your craziness, Bernhard Willhelm.
